Labor Department Urging Participation in Survey for AZ Prevailing Wages

The agency seeks input from the state’s heavy and highway construction industries.

The U.S. Department of Labor is looking for employers in the heavy and highway construction sectors in Arizona to participate in a survey from the Wage and Hour Division that is focused on establishing wage rates for workers. The department is authorized to take action under the Davis-Bacon Act and Related Acts to set the prevailing wage rates that reflect actual compensation currently paid in the county where work is occurring.

The Wage and Hour Division stated, “The division encourages all stakeholders to participate in the survey. Participation in the survey process is critical to the publication of prevailing wage and fringe benefits that accurately reflect the rates paid. Complete determinations can reduce the need for contractors to request additional labor classifications.“

Data collection began this month and will conclude in mid-January 2024.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Principal Deputy Administrator Jessica Looman as she oversees the Wage and Hour Division.
  • For Acting Secretary Julie Su to seek God’s direction as she manages the Labor Department.
  • For heavy construction sector officials in Arizona to provide input for the federal survey.
